Welcome to May contain Traces of Therapy
Hi,
I’m Paul Wilson and I’m a psychotherapist living in Auckland, New Zealand.
Here you’ll find conversations about emotions, thoughts, cults, conspiracy theories, cons and anything else which I think is important or just plain curious.
I’ll be drawing on my background in psychotherapy and psychology, often with some sociology and neuroscience added for good measure. I aim to offer insight into the serious and the strange, all with a side of humour.
To get a taste of my writing, here are a collection of pieces I’ve written with David Farrier on conspiracy theories for his wonderful Webworm.
Now, this isn’t therapy but that doesn’t mean it can’t be therapeutic. So I don’t want a paywall to get in the way of something which might help you or someone you care about. So all of my most important writing — the posts that I think might be of benefit to the public — is free.
Of course, my ability to keep doing this is funded by paying subscribers, so if it doesn’t cause you any financial hardship, please consider subscribing.
When you sign up, my writing comes directly to your inbox and the substack app.
I’ll be hosting AMAs (Ask Me Anythings) periodically so we can chat about what’s on your mind or wonder together about what’s going on in other peoples minds.
Finally, as a paying member you also get to take part in the Traces of Therapy community. I’m interested in conversations that create more light than heat, so disagreement is welcome, disrespect is not.
This is an explicitly diversity and minority friendly space. Diversity is the Norm!
A paid membership is $6.00 (NZD) a month or $60.00 (NZD) for one year. Only pay for May contain Traces of Therapy if it doesn’t cause you any kind of financial hardship.
See you in the comments,
Paul.
